Sjoerd van Bekkum is Professor of Finance and Economics at the Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University. His research agenda includes early predictions of financial distress for households and novel ways of credit scoring using open banking data. Van Bekkum has published in the world’s leading academic finance journals. He presented his work at many international academic conferences across the continents and at workshops organized by the European Central Bank, the European Commission, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and the International Monetary Fund.
